THE HERMITAGES

Representative photo of our planned Hermitages. Your gift helps make this a reality.
HI, I'M LISA OZAETA
I am a Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Olympia. I am also a member of the Community of Solitude, a Camaldolese Benedictine Religious Community. For many years, I have taken silent retreats. Getting away to be alone with our thoughts and with God can help center us and give clarity about our lives. The problem is that these silent retreats are often really expensive.
I have dreamt of having a place where I could invite people for silent retreats at a price that is affordable for everyone.
The Hermitages will be booked on a suggested donation with a commitment that all people should have access to silence and solitude.
The Hermitages are funded by donations, grants (hopefully), and sales of Pride Cider. The goal is to begin construction on the first hermitage in the Fall of 2026 and open for retreatants in Summer 2027.

FUTURE PLANS
These photographs are examples of the Hermitages we hope to build at Frog's Farm. They are included to illustrate our vision for the future.

BUILD THE HERMITAGES
We want to build six Hermitages that have the flexibility to be for one person or for two people when there are larger retreats.

BUILD THE GATHERING PAVILLION
The Gathering Pavillion will be used for group meetings, teaching session and contemplative Eucharist.

BUILD A LARGER CABIN FOR 6
Ultimately, we would like to have one building on the property that can house 6 people so a small group of 12-18 could gather on the property.
WAYS TO SUPPORT THE HERMITAGES
BUY PRIDE CIDER
Buy a case of Pride Cider.
100% of the proceeds from Pride Cider go to fund the building and operation of the Hermitages.
Plus, it's hand pressed on Frog's Farm and tastes great!
FAQS
HOW MUCH DOES A SILENT RETREAT COST?
The suggested donation is $75 a night, but there is financial aid if needed. Contact us if you need a cheaper price. Clergy always stay free.
WHAT DO I BRING?
Bring warm clothes and shoes for walking the property. Bring a journal, bible and any spiritual books that you want to read. Bring an open heart and a willingness to connect with the Divine.
HOW LONG CAN I STAY?
Retreats are from 1-3 nights. A longer retreat can be arranged with special arrangements.
ARE THERE SHOWERS AND A BATHROOM?
Ask us about our accomodations when you schedule. The current plan is to have an off-grid shower and incinerator toilet. Our goal is to update this to modern shower and toilet facilities. This is dependent on our fundraising.
CAN YOU HELP ME KNOW WHAT TO DO?
Yes. The retreat can be self-guided or guided. We can give you as much or as little structure as you desire.
WHAT'S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, as this time is set aside just for you.
IS THERE A DAILY EUCHARIST?
Absolutely. Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. We have daily Eucharist and you are invited to join. Please let us know in advance so we can coordinate times.
